[3:24]  1 tn Or “declared righteous.” Grk “being justified,” as a continuation of the preceding clause. Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was started here in the translation.

[5:15]  2 tn Grk “but not as the transgression, so also [is] the gracious gift.”

[5:15]  3 sn Here the one man refers to Adam (cf. 5:14).

[6:23]  5 tn A figurative extension of ὀψώνιον (oywnion), which refers to a soldier’s pay or wages. Here it refers to the end result of an activity, seen as something one receives back in return.
